LOAD PRIORITY PLANNING EXAMPLES
Choose ONE P1 load based on :
LOW DUTY CYCLE -Very short ON and very long OFF times.
HIGH PRIORITY - Most Important to run when demanded.
Item | Typical % Duty Cycle |
Well Pump | 3 |
Sump Pump | 5 |
Septic Pump | 5 |
Power tools - saw, drill | 8 |
Microwave Oven, kitchen appliances | 5 |
Choose ONE or TWO P2 and P3 loads based on :
MEDIUM DUTY CYCLE - Short ON and medium OFF times.
MEDIUM PRIORITY - Although these are critical priority
loads, they are OK to assign to P2 or P3 if P1 has very low duty
cycle.
Item | Typical % Duty Cycle |
Refrigerator | 30 |
Deep Freezer | 15 |
Air Compressor | 20 |
Hot Plate, Electric Skillet | 10 |
Vacuum Cleaner | 5 |
Choose ONE P3 or P4 load based on :
HIGH DUTY CYCLE - Longer ON times, up to and possibly
exceeding OFF times.
LOW PRIORITY - These loads have a long thermal cycle or
storage time and therefore it is less important exactly when they
run as it is that they run a sufficient amount of time within a
24 hour period.
Item | Typical % Duty Cycle |
Furnace Blower | over 50 |
Battery Charger (for Inverter Battery Banks) | over 50 |
Air Conditioner | over 50 |
Electric Water Heater | 10-50 |
Note: Duty cycle percentages are based on average on time out of 24 hours.
For example, a 5% duty cycle means the load would be running an average of 1 hour and 12 minutes out of each 24 hour day.
The PRIORITIZER is not recommended for constant load circuits such as room lights, television/VCR, Computers, etc.
